My Wild Story

As an artist, educator, and therapist I use my artistic practice to make the unconscious conscious, the invisible visible. I shape stories that we are told to ignore. The parts of life that we tend to turn away from find their place in my art. I also love to uplift the “ordinary.” As a choreographer, I use pedestrian movement to convey emotion and story. While other choreographers work with bodies that are capable of spectacular feats and tricks, I am more interested in the ways every day movement can be shaped to evoke sensation and emotion in both performer and audience. As a director, I integrate these “ordinary” movements into scripted and devised plays to enhance and illuminate the text.

Theatre of the Wild bridges the fields of the performing arts, mental health, and ecology and is a culmination of all the branches of my professional life. It seeks to weave theatre, psychology, and ecology into one integrated experience that will transform participants’ connection to themselves and the world around them.
